NEW! Los Angeles Times' Article on iStraight Japanese Hair Straightening System!

Though there are many hair staightening systems on the market, the iStraight system has many differentiating benefits. Nearly all straigtening systems are silicone based and are known to cause damage to the hair over a long period of time. In contrast, the iStraight system utilizes ceramide, which allows for extra moisture to be contained by the hair in turn preventing additional damage. iStraight contains only the highest quality ingredients and exceptional performance while creating absolute customer satisfaction.

iStraight can be used with all hair types, though it is always a good idea to consult with Giovanni on creating the best outcome and natural look you are searching for.

Japanese Hair Straighttening Q&A

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST ?
Typically THE I STRAIGHT SYSTEM will last from 4 to 8 months,This can very depending on how quickly your hair grows and how curly it is at the root area. Clients with very curly hair close to the scalp may need to touch up sooner than 6 months while a client whose curl starts further away from the scalp may not need a touchup for 8 months. A rule of thumb is the closer to your scalp the curl starts the sooner you may need a touchup. at which time you should set up an appointment to touch up your roots.

WHAT IS THE COST ?
Including a haircut, and a Protein Conditioning Treatment, the Japanese Straight System should cost $ 350.00 & up (keeping fair prices).

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO RE-TOUCH ?
Usually the cost is slightly less to re-touch than for the original treatment. Actually, the re-touch is in some ways more difficult, and requires News the same amount of time, and lots of attention is given to the previously treated sections of hair. See next question.

WHEN I GET THE NEW GROWTH TREATED , DO I NEED TO DO ALL THE HAIR AGAIN ?
Only the roots will need to re-touch"THE I STRAIGHT SYSTEM" treatment, while the ends will not. The ends will receive a "protection" coating, to avoid unnecessary contact with the perm solution. Also, the ends will get a special conditioning treatment.

WHAT News COLOR-TREATED / HIGHLIGHTED / BLEACHED HAIR ?
GIOVANNI has been very successful with color-treated and bleached hair. The most important consideration is your hair condition. Highlights and strong bleach can sometimes be difficult to work with. It's important to schedule a prior consultation, to make sure this process is right for your hair.

AFTER I HAVE THE "THE I STRAIGHT SYSTEM" ,CAN I COLOR OR HIGHLIGHT MY HAIR ?
Yes, you can color and highlight your hair after the treatment. One important consideration, though, is that some color and highlight processes can damage your hair more than you might expect. To keep your hair healthy, use gentler products, and consider getting only a few highlights, on the top, rather than all over.

WHAT News SHORT HAIR ?
Although the process works for short hair, too, I recommend that your hair be at least 5 inches long. As the roots grow out, longer hair will have the weight to pull them straight for a while. Short hair will need to be touched up sooner.

WILL I STILL NEED TO BLOW DRY MY HAIR AFTER THE TREATMENT ?
Generally, you can expect to let your hair air dry, with great results. If you'd like to style your hair, or perhaps if you need to dry your hair more quickly, then of course, you'll still have the choice of blow drying also.

DOES IT DAMAGE MY HAIR ?
Blow drying, brushing, and using a flat iron on a regular basis are all damaging to your hair. After you have a properly performed Japanese Straight System, you won't need to use these strong methods to style your hair the way you like. This way, over time, and given the proper care, your hair is likely to get healthier. Remember also that starting with healthy hair makes a tremendous difference. Expect that your hair will be as healthy after the process as when you first come to the salon. This process is not meant to repair damaged hair. Of course, any chemical treatment will have an effect on your hair. This is why it's very important to only consider using the best-quality products, in the right mix, with the most up-to-date techniques and procedures. To be sure you only receive the best possible treatment, Giovanni is always researching for only the top products, and keeping regular contact with the manufacturers, and the leading trainers in Japan .

WHY HAVE SOME PEOPLE HAD BAD EXPERIENCES WITH THIS PROCEDURE ?
The Japanese Straight System is one of the most difficult procedures to do correctly, and very few people (Like GIOVANNI) have had the opportunity to specialize in the process.
